Where to Spray Cologne

Today, in this short Plowden & Fallow blog, we explore how to apply cologne for maximum impact, hopefully, sensually aiding you to elevate your presence and leave a lasting impression. So without further delay, here are our top tips for you to consider:

Target Pulse Points

Pulse points are areas where the blood vessels are closest to the skin's surface, emitting heat that can amplify the scent of your perfume. Plowden & Fallow perfumes can be delicately layered by applying to these points:

  • Wrists: Spray or dab a few drops of perfume on your inner wrists. Avoid rubbing your wrists together, as this can crush the fragrance's delicate molecules.

  • Neck: Gently apply the perfume to the base of your throat, where your neck meets your collarbone. This area is particularly sensitive to heat, enhancing the scent's diffusion.

  • Behind Ears: The warmth behind your ears is perfect for subtle scent release.

  • Inner Elbows: Similar to wrists, the inner elbows are pulse points that can hold and radiate fragrance.

  • Plowden & Fallow fragrances are not artificially coloured, therefore with care, application on fabric may be possible. However, due to the natural colourings in our Ophrys perfume, with this product you are best to avoid doing so, to be on the safe side.

Moderation

Remember, moderation is key when applying cologne. You want to leave a positive impression, not overwhelm those around you. Choose a scent that suits your personality and the occasion.

KEEP A DISTANCE

Eau de Cologne is generally a lower strength when compared with Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum, however a little should still go a long way. To further understand the differences between these fragrance concentrations please click here to read a recent blog post on the subject. Hold the perfume bottle about 6-8 inches away from your skin and apply lightly. Avoid drenching yourself in the fragrance, as it can overwhelm the senses.

We hope our concise list of top tips will enable you to garner the very best from your colognes. To view Plowden & Fallow’s full range of Luxury British Fragrances please click here.
